The vacant IBF and IBO??middleweight titles will be on the Lineup this Saturday night in Madison Square Garden in New York.
Competing for the two belts are GennadyGGG Golovkin and SergiyThe Tech Derevyanchenko. Golovkin, the Kazakhstan native, is now a favored Derevyanchenko, with the Ukraine native , coming straight back at +375.
This will be the second time and the second time in the past three battles that Derevyanchenko was a gambling underdog. The fighter dropped that bout in a split decision and was a slight +155 dog against Daniel Jacobs last October. Ahead of that garbage, The Tech had been undefeated, favorite on a finish series and in all of his charms.
GGG is a popular if he had been a slight -105 underdog with Alvarez coming straight back in -125, since he has been for the majority of his career out the Canelo Alvarez rematch. Outside of this Canelo struggles, Golovkin retains a record with 35 wins coming by knockout and is a big favorite in every bout. In 2 choices that were razor-thin that he went 0-1-1 From both Canelo fights.
GGG likes to get in dogfights with his enemies backing them into a corner looking for chances to allow his heavy hands fly. He had a knockout streak until Daniel Jacobs went the whole 12 rounds??but lost by choice.
Does Golovkin have punching power but he has excellent head movement when hes in the pocket at wild exchanges, doing a good job of preventing his opponents shots. 1 negative part of GGGs protector is that he doesnt shield the entire body and can frequently be targeted , even though we have seen it wear him down.
The Technician has accurate yells and he arouses them well behind lunging movements and quick jabs. The Ukraine native does a wonderful job throughout his flurries to mix up his punches high and reduced with deceptive power and exceptional speed.
By massaging the body maybe a little too near the 24, Jacobs in their bout defeated over and over again. In exchanges, Derevyanchenko has to do a much better job in bringing his eyeglasses back to his chin as he will trade punch for punch but that is a game with GGG.
Two forward-pressure fighters who prefer to get into a telephone booth and swap hands. The Technician might have a slight edge in overall hands rate, but??he will timber ahead and there are some holes. Meanwhile, the GGG will have the edge in energy, footwork and defense.
Prediction: Gennady Golovkin (-550) via knockout
Odds at BetOnline at October 2
