Catcher out to star at Ascot on Champions Day

Star Catcher is a hot favorite to provide Anthony Oppenheimer using a Champions Day victory in as many years after she bids to summit an fantastic effort from the Qipco British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes.
The leading owner-breeder has observed that his colours carried in the past two renewals of the Champion Stakes – and can return to Ascot optimistic of glory.
Founded by John Gosden, Star Catcher has won four of the five starts so far this season – by landing the Irish Oaks at the Curragh, the Ribblesdale in Royal Ascot and the Prix Vermeille at ParisLongchamp completing a.
The girl of Sea The Stars is well fancied to bring a Group One to her CV this weekend, but together with her Epsom Oaks-winning stable companion Anapurna among her rivals, Oppenheimer is taking nothing for granted.
He said:I hope she has got a great chance, but you have got the Oaks winner at there, that won a Group One final time, therefore its no pushover.
I am told she functioned well earlier in the week. Since it is on the monitor, which will most likely be good for 28, the ground isnt likely to be soft on the course. She moves on the ground, but wouldnt want it thick.
She remains in practice next year, so shell just operate if Mr Gosden is happy with the floor.
Itd be fantastic to have another winner on Champions Day. Let us see what happens.
Anapurna can only finish seventh supporting Star Catcher after falling traffic problems along with her comeback and was off the trail for more than three months after her traditional victory at Epsom.
When registering a triumph in the Prix de Royallieu she showed her true colors on her return to Paris.
Mark Weinfeld of owners Helena Springfield Ltd stated:Its wonderful to be heading up there on the rear of a win after what happened to her at the Vermeille. The Vermeille has been a non-event for her, therefore she did well to bounce back time back in France.
What she showed there was she manages soft earth well and has a lot of stamina, so thats not a concern, but what could be is that she is coming back quite fast.
Shed have a mid-summer break, however.
Gosden includes a third string to his bow in Sparkle Roll.
Aidan OBrien has maintained that this decoration with Magical and Hydrangea .
This season the Ballydoyle handler starts a four-pronged assault, with Fleeting (Donnacha OBrien) and Delphinia (Seamie Heffernan) apparently his two chief contenders, ahead of South Sea Pearl (Sean Levey) and also Pink Dogwood (Pierre-Charles Boudot).
OBrien stated:Both Fleeting along with Delphina were next in Group Ones on their past begins. Its pretty unbelievable that Fleeting hasnt won one yet. Shes in good shape and ran a great race at Longchamp (second in Prix de lOpera). She seems well, although we havent done much since.
Delphina also ran a fantastic race at Longchamp the previous day (second to Anapurna) over a tiny bit farther, but she seems to be in good shape as well.
We are a tiny bit lost with Pink Dogwood and we can not put our finger on why her kind has gone backward, but shes working nicely and was second in the Oaks.
Few trainers have their series in better shape. Since asserting a Recorded prize at Newbury in 18, the three-year-old has not been viewed.
She did a great piece of work at Kempton last week and we think shes prepared, said Beckett.
The floor will be right up her alley – it could not rain enough for her.
I am hopeful she will run well. The attraction (10) is not ideal, but we cant help that.
Shes very under-raced and I am hopeful there is a bit longer to come. She goes nice and fresh.
Beckett had five winners last Saturday, and added:We had a tricky spring, it was not going well and we hit a bit of a blip in July when they were not running nicely. Saturday gave us all a joy and it is always a fantastic idea to finish your season off
The William Haggas-trained Klassique is a intriguing outsider, using just once completed from the first three in 10 starts.
She had been last seen placing third at a Group 2.
Klassique worked well in France the past time, but was somewhat flat. She adores the soft and we deliberately put her off, said Haggas.
Shes an outsider and has got quite a bit to find on form. If she can finish in the first four, then we will be thrilled.
