Coco Gauff claimed her first Top 10 scalp of her profession to get to the semi-finals of the Upper Austria Ladies Linz.
The 15-year-old American needed a lucky loser place to enter the main attraction but has taken her chance superbly, and also a 7-6 (7-1) 6-4 victory on the world No 8 Kiki Bertens gave her the biggest triumph, by ranking, of her first career.
Gauff, that had been already guaranteed to split the Top 100 on Monday, is the youngest girl since Nicole Vaidisova won Tashkent in October 2004 to reach a WTA Tour semi-final.
The 97-minute success over top-seeded Bertens implies that she will take to get a place within her first-ever WTA singles final on Andrea Petkovic of Germany.
Petkovic prevailed over Viktoria Kuzmova 6-4 6-1 to make sure that she would be present in the previous four.
The quarter-finals on the opposing side of the draw see Jelena Ostapenko carrying confronting the seed Ekaterina Alexandrova.
