The team win the Premier League this season and to finish their title-drought of Jurgen Klopp has been backed by liverpool legend John Barnes.
The Premier League has never been improved by liverpool, with their last title coming in the First Division in 1990.
Klopp’s side failed to win the Champions League last season and Barnes considers claiming their first prize under the German will lead to more success.
He told Sky Sports News:”Last year, in addition to Liverpool were playing right to the finish, I believed that Manchester City would win the league.
“This year I think Liverpool will win the league. They have this decision, this particular drive, this confidence that they have won a decoration.
“Exactly what Klopp has instilled into this team isn’t any excuses. So when teams then give excuses to themselves – because players are injured or they come – points will drop since they can fall points.
“Klopp won’t and he is instilled that to the group and the fans. The players know, there are no excuses not to carry out , regardless of whether they are playing. That is Liverpool’s strength.”
Barnes, who spent ten years as a player at Anfieldplayed the on-field dispute between Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane in Burnley last weekend.
Mane responded after his strike-partner failed to pass him the ballbut Barnes said:”The most important issue is there is no hangover out of it, and with Liverpool there will not be.
“He’s human and Jurgen Klopp said himself’these things happen’, but there will not be any spill-over from that.
“Ideally you don’t want it to happen as you don’t need to create disharmony, but that is not going to become a problem.”
