Military marches to Autumn Stakes win at Newmarket

Military March came out on top in a Godolphin-dominated End to the Dubai Autumn Stakes.

A winner in his only start on the July Course in late July, Saeed bin Suroors Military March was a 4-1 shot as he stepped up on the Rowley Mile to Group Three level.
The son of New Approach raised the pace and shortly forced the speed in champion jockey-elect Oisin Murphys palms.
Military March refused to yield and got the better of a thrilling duel by half a length, although he seemed at the other runner Al Suhails mercy following his inside crept up and bagged the rail.
Bin Suroor said:Hes a huge heart and tries extremely hard. Hes a large, strong horse and in the evenings he functions well and shows his course.
It was good to see him win a Group Three. Its likely that we could shoot him to Dubai and give him a break and keep him for next year. He would become.
Its too early to say if he would run in Dubai but I need horses to its UAE Guineas and Derby. When he handled the dirt well out there hed run on the market, but if not we will only bring him back.
Ropey Guest has been some seven spans away in third, just ahead of the hat-trick seeking 5-2 favorite Molatham.
