Oakland Athletics at Seattle Mariners MLB Pick – September 29th

It seems like only yesterday that both pitchers and catchers were reporting for spring training. But at a blink of an eye, we are already at the season now. Game 162. All games will kick off at PM PST that some groups with something to play for, will not have their results spoiled before starting their particular game. Unlike a number of the ago of the year, there isnt a lot that is up for catch now on the final day of the season.
The American League is set with the Houston Astros shooting home the top seed, and also the New York Yankees, and Minnesota Twins as the two division champs. All 3 teams won a hundred games. The wild card came to a race for 2 spots and saw the Cleveland Indians completely implode against the likes of the Chicago White Sox in the seasons final week. The Oakland Athletics and Tampa Bay Rays both reap the benefits of those Indians and the two teams will suit up at Oakland next week to get a one card wild card game with the winner facing the Houston Astros in the ALDS.
In the National League, there is a little more on the line. The seeding is not, while the whole area of teams is put at the NL. The St. Louis Cardinals enter the day with a one-game lead over the Milwaukee Brewers for the NL Central Division title. As the Cards have lost four straight, both groups have stumbled to the finish line, and the Brewers have lost two out of the past three. If the teams finish the season tied, they will play with a playoff to pick the division champs.
The difference between the branch and the wild card is equally so huge. While the wild card winner is going to need to play at Washington likely against NL Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer, the division winner heads to the NLDS to face the Atlanta Braves. Along with thats winner gets to perform with the top-seeded Los Angeles Dodgers. Not a path you are likely to need to take. With all of this one the point , we end the season up with a game which on the surface might notthing all that much as we head to Seattle in which the Mariners host the Oakland Athletics.
The Oakland Athletics have been in Seattle Sunday, wrapping up the regular season against the Mariners. The As are headed to the playoffs for the 2nd consecutive season and will host the Tampa Bay Rays at a playoff. As manager Bob Melvin is eager to receive his team house and will break many of his regulars in game 162.
Annually one of what seems like a rebuilding process, they fought for Seattle, which year will finish like so many have in Seattle, without a trip to the postseason. That being said, this team is playing hard, and many of their young gamers that got their first taste of big-league activity this year, have seemed promising. The Mariners have reason to be hopeful for its future for the first time in a very long time.
Starting for the As is Tanner Roark (10-9 4.32 ERA), also for the Mariners it is Justin Dunn (0-0 3.86 ERA). The game complete over-under is placed in runs. The As are large road favorites. First pitch is scheduled for 12:10 PM PST in T-Mobile Park in Seattle.
Today, the Oakland As want to get from Seattle as they can. Do not be shocked if the team that takes the discipline today looks nothing like the team that has been playing with the majority of the year. Oakland ought to be resting several of the best guys, and since Roark probably wouldnt pitch until the end of the NLDS, or perhaps not at all, even as he might end up in the bullpen for the game, he might wind up pitching a while today to rest the bullpen.
Roark appears like the odd man from the As playoff rotation as Sean Manaea seemed fantastic for Oakland and has returned, and Roark has struggled down the stretch. In his past three starts, Roark has been terrible since he has been hammered for two runs and has pitched only two and two-thirds of an inning. With the previous two of those starts coming against teams, the Texas Rangers and the Kansas City Royals. Therefore, while the Mariners bats have been cold as of late, they should be able to locate some success against Roark now.
Justin Dunn is earning his fourth league appearances tonight, and you also realize as he is currently attempting to make a place on next years 35, hes going to be playing. Dunn joined this Mariners group as a September call-up, also he has tossed four shutout innings in his past two games, after allowing two runs in his first appearance. 1 issue for Dunn has been his control as he has eight falls this year in comparison to just two strikeouts. If he wishes to knock off the As, Hell need to be better tonight.
The As are the better team in this matchup. Im not sure you might even argue the other side of the. However, in a game which ought to mean something to Seattle, and means nothing regarding the As, its their final home game of the season, Im surprised to watch Oakland as favorites that are big that are such. The Mariners have demonstrated a great deal of soul and emotion . Between enjoying with a tight match the night, or committing King Felix a as he ends his career with the Mariners, this team is playing tough.
And I believe that they find a way. The As already have their eyes set on things that are bigger and better and their bags. Today, they could care less if they win or lose, they only want to find home prepared and rested for the playoffs. Thus, I think Seattle takes the match and finds out a way to finish the season. When you have been a avid reader of my picks this year, you know I love to rear underdogs home underdogs, and I see that it fitting that the final pick of the day is on a major home dog. Give that the Seattle Mariners as home underdogs today at to me!
