Oakland Athletics at Seattle Mariners MLB Pick – September 29th

It looks like just yesterday that pitchers and catchers reported for spring training. But in a blink of the eye, we are currently at the time now. Game 162. All matches will kick off at approximately 12:00 PM PST so that any teams with something to play for, wont have their results before starting their game. Unlike a number of the years past, there is not a lot that is up for catch now on the final day of the season.
The American League is fully set using the Houston Astros carrying home the best seed, and the New York Yankees, and Minnesota Twins as another two division champs. All 3 teams won at least a hundred games this year. The card came to some three-horse race for two spots and watched the Cleveland Indians completely implode from the likes of the Chicago White Sox in the last week of the season. Tampa Bay along with the Oakland Athletics Rays both reap the benefits of these Indians and the two teams will suit up in Oakland next week for a one card wild card game with the winner facing the Houston Astros from the ALDS.
In the National League, theres a bit more on the line. While teams area is put at the NL, the seeding isnt. The St. Louis Cardinals enter the afternoon using a one-game lead on the Milwaukee Brewers for the NL Central Division title. Both groups have stumbled to the finish line since the Cards have dropped four straight, and the Brewers have dropped two from their last three. If the teams end the season tied, they will play with a one-game playoff to decide on the division champs.
The difference between the branch and the wild card is equally enormous. Although the wild card winner will need to play Washington likely against NL Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer, the division winner heads straight to manage the Atlanta Braves. Along with thats winner gets to play with the top-seeded Los Angeles Dodgers. Not a route you are going to want to take. With this one the linewe finish the season up with a match which on the surface might notthing all that far as we visit Seattle in which the Mariners sponsor the Oakland Athletics.
The Oakland Athletics have been wrap up the regular season against the Mariners. Tuesday, the As are headed to the playoffs for the 2nd successive year and will host the Tampa Bay Rays in a playoff. As manager Bob Melvin will rest a lot of his regulars now in match 162 and is excited to get his group residence.
Of what seems like a rebuilding process annually one, they struggled To get Seattle, which year will finish like so many have in Seattle, without a visit to the postseason. That having been said, this team is playing hard, and a lot of their young gamers that got their first taste of big-league activity this season, have seemed promising. The Mariners have reason to be hopeful for the future for the very first time in quite a very long time.
Beginning for the As is Tanner Roark (10-9 4.32 ERA), also for the Mariners it is Justin Dunn (0-0 3.86 ERA). The game is set at nine runs. The As are large road favorites. First pitch is scheduled for 12:10 PM PST in T-Mobile Park at Seattle.
Today, the Oakland As desire to get out of Seattle as quickly as they can. Dont be shocked in the event the group that takes the field looks nothing like the team that has been playing with the majority of the year. Oakland ought to be napping several of the best men, and since Roark likely wouldnt pitch until the end of the NLDS, or maybe not at all, as he could end up in the bullpen for the match, he could end up pitching a while now to break the bullpen.
Roark seems like the odd man out of the playoff turning of the A as Sean Manaea looked good for Oakland and has lately returned, also Roark has struggled down the stretch. In his last few starts, Roark has been pretty terrible as he has pitched only two and two-thirds of an inning, and it has been hammered for fourteen runs. With the last two of those starts coming from the Kansas City Royals, the Texas Rangers and poor teams. So, while the Mariners bats have been chilly as of late, they should be able to find some success from Roark.
Justin Dunn is earning his fourth league looks tonight, and you know he is going to be playing as he is currently attempting to earn a place on next years squad. Dunn joined this Mariners group also hes pitched four shutout innings in his past two games after allowing two runs from his first appearance. One problem for Dunn has been his command as he has eight. If he would like to knock off the As he will need to be better tonight.
The As are the better team in this matchup. Im not sure you could even argue that the other side of that. However, in a game that should mean something to Seattle, and means absolutely nothing regarding the As, it is their final home match of this season, Im surprised to visit Oakland as big favorites that are such. The Mariners have demonstrated a great deal of emotion and heart . Between enjoying with a tight one-run match the night, or committing King Felix a because he ends his own fifteen-year profession with the Mariners, this team is still playing tough.
And I think they find a way. The As already have their eyes put on stuff that are better and bigger along with their bags packed. Today, they can care less if they win or shed, they only need to find home rested and prepared for the playoffs. Therefore, I think Seattle takes the match and finds a way to finish the year. When you have been an avid reader of my everyday picks this season, you know that I love to rear underdogs house underdogs, and I find it fitting that the final selection of the regular season is on a home dog that is significant. Give me the Seattle Mariners as home underdogs now at +160 in game 162!
