Pep Guardiola: Manchester City not ready to win Champions League

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says his side are not ready to win the Champions League, insisting they have a lot to work on.
The Premier League champions responded at the Start of October to the 2-0 loss to Wolves with a triumph by the Exact Same scoreline in Crystal Palace on Saturday.
City are next in action on Tuesday at home to Atalanta in Group C of the Champions League and course Liverpool after losing twice in the league this season.
It’s a contest Guardiola and also that the club have longed to win, but the Spaniard suggested that it is a very long way away yet.
“We miss a whole lot of opportunities in the last third and we have to do this to be clinical. When the people today say concerning the Champions League being the goal, we are still not ready,” he explained.
“We create a good deal and we do not concede, however we can still improve. We’re a staff in the previous two seasons that generate a lot and score a good deal. I really don’t have doubt about this, but still we must keep going and work on this.”
Guardiola declared the save Ederson created from Christian Benteke in the next half, which guaranteed City remained in control.
Had the Palace substitute netted in the minute, it’d have set up a dramatic finale in south London.
Nevertheless City stayed on top and should have scored a couple more late on with Kevin De Bruyne hitting this post and Raheem Sterling firing wide from close selection.
It did not matter also the Brazilian forward, that netted his 50th goal for the club as going from Palmeiras for a deal to the Etihad in January 2017 worth a 27m was commended by Guardiola.
“He [Jesus] will have a very long career and with his mentality always he will have success. He is hungry, he will turn into a significant striker across the planet and we are lucky to have him” Guardiola added.
“Gabriel was consistently good from the beginning. He had the two harms. Last season it was tough after the World Cup it wasn’t simple, but he is powerful.
“He is a couple nine to Brazil. The club brought an amazing player . Among the best signings.
“To contend with Sergio [Aguero] is perhaps the most difficult thing. Sergio is a legend, an outrageous participant – but Gabriel is really calm.
“He is a competition, he takes the decision and every coaching session that he fights to be an animal, but he’s so young and will enhance.”
