Southampton are all set to declare Matt Crocker because of their new director of soccer operations.
After leaving his place crocker, whos now the FAs head of development team coaching, is returning.
He succeeds Ross Wilson, who left to join Scottish Premiership club Rangers as director of football.
Crockers role is understood to be an individual; overseeing the soccer section, and establishing a very clear doctrine and pathway.
Its believed to be similar to Les Reed project at St Marys, and the one Reed now performs as director of the FA.
Reed left Southampton to substitute Dan Ashworth, who combined Brighton. Crocker worked closely with Ashworth and can be said to have helped create the EnglandDNA under Gareth Southgate.
Southampton remain to focus on player recruiting, perhaps under the name of head of recruitment, formerly held by his predecessor and Wilson Paul Mitchell.
Chief scout Martyn Glover is fulfilling the job.
The two Crocker and the head of recruiting face a tough job to rebuild Saints after another beginning to the season for manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.
Theyre second-bottom after 13 games, using two victories with their title, having done limited business in the summer transfer window following narrowly avoiding relegation last year.
